BANKS
The countercyclical capital buffer for Italian banks is confirmed at zero percent for the third quarter of 2024, the Bank of Italy said on Friday.

The lender launched the third tranche of the share buyback program for up to 155,140,829 shares, equal to 1.50 billion euros, it said on Friday. The program starts on Monday and may be completed by September.

The lender has extended the existing payments contract it has with Nexi until the end of 2025 as the closing of a partnership deal for the business, signed in July with fund FSI and BCC ICCREA, is taking longer than expected, Corriere della Sera's L'Economia weekly said on Monday, adding that the bank's spokesman declined to comment the matter.

The group's Nextchem unit signed a licensing contract with DG Fuels Louisiana for its NX Circular gasification technology, the engineering company said on Monday. The plant, set to be operational in 2028, will produce 450 million litres per year of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) from residual biomass and municipal waste.

The Italian defence and aerospace group said on Saturday it had agreed to sell its 98% stake in bus maker Industria Italiana Autobus to Seri Industrial as the offer was only one compliant with the conditions of the disposal, in a process assisted by KPMG and Legance, which saw numerous industrial and financial suitors, both Italian and foreign.
