Italy - Factors to watch on August 28
The following factors could affect Italian markets on Wednesday.

ECONOMY
Italy's government will present its framework for the 2025 budget by mid-September, the Treasury said in a statement. The document will include budget deficit and debt targets as well as economic growth estimates for the 2024-2027 period.
Statistics bureau ISTAT releases June industry sales data (0800 GMT).
DEBT
Treasury sells 2.5 billion euros 6-month BOT bills due Jan. 31, 2025 and 2.0 billion euros 12-month BOT bills due March 13, 2025. Subscriptions close at 0900 GMT.
ECB releases July data on Italian banks domestic government bond holdings (0800 GMT).
COMPANIES
Milan Stock Exchange After Hours market closed.

Its Spanish unit Liberty Seguros and Spain's Bankinter BKT.MC have ended their alliance in the distribution of policies, particularly in motor and home insurance, MF reported on Wednesday citing Spanish daily Expansion. The break-up was due to economic differences in commercial terms, it added.

Italy's biggest gas distributor completed its due diligence on smaller rival 2I Rete Gas in mid-August and there were no obstacles to the takeover, Il Corriere della Sera reported on Wednesday. The deal could be worth more than 5 billion euros, it added.

Italy's Antitrust watchdog has cleared the acquisition of Enel's electricity grids in the northern provinces of Milan and Brescia by utility A2A, MF reported. The deal, worth 1.22 billion euros, is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of this year, it added.

Jefferies on Wednesday initiated the coverage of the Italian engineering group with a "buy" rating and a price target of 10 euros.

Board meeting on H1 results (preliminary results released on July 11), followed by conference call (1600 GMT).
CREDITO EMILIANO EMBI.MI
The lender is set to exercise an option for early redemption of a 500 million euro ($558.20 million) non-preferred senior bond due in October 2025, it said on Tuesday. It will buy back at par all the outstanding notes, worth 337.9 million euros, by Oct. 24.
