UK Stocks-Factors to watch on Sept 18

Sept 18 (Reuters) -Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening lower on Wednesday, with futures FFIc1 down 0.2%.
* LEGAL & GENERAL: Legal & General LGEN.L has agreed to sell its UK housebuilder CALA Group in a deal worth 1.35 billion pounds ($1.78 billion) to an acquisition vehicle led by U.S. private assets firm Sixth Street Partners, as the latter steps up its European investment drive.
* M&C SAATCHI: British advertising group M&C Saatchi SAA.L posted a 26% rise in first-half profit on Wednesday, and forecast its annual results in line with market view, aided by improved advertising spend from clients, cost-saving measures and asset sales.
* UK INFLATION: British inflation stood at an annual rate of 2.2% in August, unchanged from July, but price growth in the services sector - closely watched by the Bank of England - picked up, official figures showed.
* RECKITT: Reckitt Benckiser RKT.L has launched early discussions with potential suitors for a sale of its homecare assets, which could be worth over 6 billion pounds, Bloomberg News reported on Tuesday.
* RIO TINTO: Mining giant Rio Tinto RIO.L said it will develop seed farms in Australia to explore the potential of Pongamia seed oil as a feedstock for renewable diesel.
* OIL: Oil prices steadied, after rising in the previous two sessions, as investors await the U.S. Federal Reserve's anticipated interest rate cut.
* GOLD: Gold prices were flat on Wednesday.
* METALS: Prices of most nonferrous metals fell in London amid caution ahead of an interest rate decision by the U.S. Federal Reserve.
