CIF/FOB Gulf Grain-Soy, corn barge bids stay mostly steady
Oct 7 (Reuters) -Basis bids for soybeans and corn shipped by barge to the Gulf Coast were largely steady on Monday, traders said.
* CIF values had a softer tone due to ongoing U.S. corn and soy harvesting, a trader said. Harvest weather looks clear in the Midwest for the next seven to 10 days, he added.
* The soybean harvest is 47% complete, while 30% of the corn crop is harvested, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said.
* Traders are watching for potential demand from China, the world's biggest soybean importer, after the country's seven-day "Golden Week" holiday wrapped up on Monday.
* Exporters sold 172,500 metric tons of U.S. soybeans to unknown destinations and 155,000 metric tons of U.S. corn to Mexico, USDA said in its daily reporting system.
* CIF October soybean barges were bid at 74 cents over Chicago Board of Trade's November soybean SX24 futures, which was steady.
* FOB soy export premiums were flat for the first half of November at about 113 cents over futures. Last-half November offers were also steady at about 113 cents over futures.
* For corn, CIF barges loaded in October were bid 1 cent higher at 71 cents over CBOT December CZ24 futures.
* FOB Gulf corn export basis offers were steady at about 110 cents over futures for first-half November shipments. Offers were also unchanged at 110 cents over for shipments in the last half of November.
